About Us

Ecostorm was launched in late 2003 by two British environmental activists and journalists with extensive experience of working on investigative assignments for campaigning organisations and the media. Ecostorm was created as a direct result of growth in demand for a specialist organisation capable of carrying out professional research and investigations in the fields of environment, animal welfare and human rights.

Using a variety of unique and sophisticated methods, Ecostorm obtains information, film and photos that incontrovertibly reveal the facts about environmental crime, animal and human rights abuses – who is responsible, how they operate, where abuses are happening, and their impact – and equips campaigners with the material needed to present a compelling case for change.

Since its inception, Ecostorm has undertaken dozens of investigations and related research assignments on behalf of a wide variety of pressure groups. This diverse programme of work has seen investigators operate in over sixty countries globally. From an initial staff of just two, our network has now expanded considerably, comprising investigators, journalists, researchers and support staff, each specialists in their respective fields.

Ecostorm increasingly collaborates directly with the print and broadcast media, and we have unique and extensive experience of supplying investigative content to external producers, reporters and editors for use in their programmes and articles.

Ecostorm also acts as a film production unit in its own right, working with ethical organisations and pressure groups to develop and produce their campaign films, video news releases (VNRs) and other film-based products. By working with our partners on each and every stage of production, from initial research and treatment, to storyboarding, footage gathering and editing, we enable them to convey new findings and communicate key messages via professional and highly targeted films.
